The old spray polyurethane foam on the church's roof needed scarification. Scarifying is the process of cutting or planning off the surface of the spray polyurethane foam. It exposes the good foam underneath as a base for a new layer of spray polyurethane foam or acrylic coatings. It is common for older roofs with spray polyurethane foam to need scarification if not properly maintained.

The scarifying process allows us to restore the roof to a condition that can withstand long-term sustainability. With proper maintenance, a restored spray polyurethane foam roof can last 30-40 years.
